LADOT Adams Boulevard Safety Project, Community Engagement Consultant

Between 2009 and 2019, 69 people were killed or severely injured on the Adams corridor. As part of LADOT Livable Streets’ Vision Zero initiative, the Adams Boulevard Safety Project implements transportation safety improvements to save lives and prevent future severe injuries. Our “Walk the Boulevard” community event provided 11 engagement tables that spanned the 2-mile space along the Adams Blvd Corridor ensuring that we would engage with the diverse residents in the community. We raised awareness among and solicited feedback from local stakeholders regarding much-needed street enhancements. These improvements included lane reconfiguration with bike lanes, new crosswalks with pedestrian refuge islands and flashing beacons, pavement resurfacing, left turn signal upgrades, street lighting upgrades, and street trees.

In West Adams, I led local efforts to create a safer community by distributing SCAG’s engagement and education resources to local schools, churches, and businesses.
